RANDOM THOUGHTS

SERVANTHOOD LEADERSHP
If one wants to be a “leader” in the Church of God, he must be a servant, as Jesus served. The best example of this is the washing of the feet. Here is God, Himself, washing the feet of others. There is a lot of symbolism, and realism in this. Have you washed anyone’s feet recently? Do you desire to? Have you met a pastor or other Christian that is there to serve? Many church members and leaders are not there to serve, but to be served.

PASSION
Jesus lived a life of passion. He desired to do the will of His Father in all that He did. He was not just up to the task on Sunday morning. To Him, church was 24 hours a day, seven days a week. He lived what He believed, and wants us to do the same.
Many church’s work is falling short is areas that are critical to the Mission of Jesus. The call of God is to honor Him and do His Work and Will here on earth. God desires us to discern His will and then to proceed to live as Bible believing Christians. We need to be hearers (students) of the Word in order to be doers.

GOD’S WILL
In order that we can discern His will as Christians, we need to be of one mind and one accord as a church. We believe that the Bible teaches us to work together as a church. We believe that leaders are not appointed by man, but by God Himself, and that the role of the leader is to serve both God and the people they are leading (as Jesus did in washing the feet of those He was leading). In order to be of one accord we need to have a common vision. Not an imposed vision, but a vision that is inspired by God, and agreed to by the members of the church.

ACCOUNTABILITY
Everyone is accountable to God first, and then, also, accountable to all other Christians.

“NOW CHRISTIANITY”
The Word of God wishes us to be centered on the belief that we need to spend a lot of time hearing the voice of God. “Now Christianity” is the emphasis on whatever trend seems to be big at the time. In many churches it is programs, in others it is seminars, and still, in others, it is doing something other than what is commanded of Christians to do. “Now Christianity” often is full of emotionalism, or fads, such as dancing, prayer walking, etc.

WORSHIP...
is narrowly defined as singing current songs and singing them loudly. If you don’t “feel” close to God, something is wrong with you.  If you study the Word, worshipping God, is rarely defined as singing songs, listening to others sing, or having a choir, or “worship team”

BORN AGAIN
All men are unrighteous. None understand, none seek God. Being Born Again is a gift from God. It is not a “personal relationship”. It is being born anew in God-Him giving you eternal salvation. God is not your “personal buddy”. He is the Lord of all, and the Maker and Redeemer of all there is. He is the Absolute Supreme God. Your Salvation is based on the Word of God, not your emotional response. Being Born Again is having the Faith in Jesus that He gives you. Holiness is not something that you can do to get to heaven. It is affixed on you by God. There is no leading a person to Christ. Jesus alone can save.

MISCELLANEOUS POINTS
People doing God’s work should not be paid-they should receive offerings
All need to feed the flock
No one should “fleece” the flock
As a Christian, don’t give the best to yourself
All believers need to look for those wandering away
